Kerrville Public School Foundation Announces
Nomination Period for Annual Teacher of the Year Program

KPSF

The Kerrville Public School Foundation announces that nominations are now open for its annual Teacher of the Year Program. This program is designed to recognize exceptional classroom teaching within the Kerrville Independent School District.  Two Teacher of the Year awards will be given: one to a deserving classroom teacher at the Pre-School through Grade 5 level (Elementary Level) and the other to a deserving classroom teacher in Grade 6 through Grade 12 level (Secondary Level). Additionally, a monetary award of $2,500 will be given to each recipient.

All classroom teachers completing at least five years of experience in this district, including the 2016-2017 school year, are eligible to be nominated. The Kerrville Public School Foundation’s focus upon effective instruction in this recognition is consistent with KISD’s stated goals and emphasis upon excellence in its instructional programs. Last year’s honoree at the secondary level was April Buckley de Garcia, a Spanish teacher at Tivy High School.

Kerrville Public School Foundation invites community members, parents, educators, and staff to participate in this program by nominating a classroom teacher who exemplifies the finest in the profession. Nomination forms may be obtained:  1) at your or your child’s school;  2) on the KISD website
www.kerrvilleisd.net (click on the link below the KPSF logo);  3) on the Foundation website www.kpsf.net (click on the “What We Do” tab;  4) or by calling or emailing the Foundation’s office at 257-9282 or kpsf@windstream.net.  Nominations will be accepted until January 27, and may be submitted to the principal on each campus.
